I downloaded another app, this time for sure from the app store, just to be sure this appx deployment service still works, and it does.
The odd thing is that the service is set to "manual," rather than "auto," and there's no obvious way to change that. All of the controls are greyed out. But hey, at least it works, right? I just discovered this laptop should have been on Windows which is the version deployed to him but he was able to upgrade to 20H2 in February and we were still using legacy Edge, when he upgraded to 20H2 it would have forced the Edge chromium update at the same time and we are still testing chromium for deployment. Learning this now it appears I might need to do a deeper scrub after uninstalling Edge and reinstall it and hopefully was just a corrupt install.
I think Digital Guardian is the root cause here.. I wanted to follow up on this issue and see if I could help. My first question is whether you are still receiving this issue. I agree that other applications may be interfering with your download.
